GO NOW Students Join TBM Long Term Recovery Summer Mission Trips

This summer, TBM Disaster Relief will be partnering with Go Now Missions of Texas Baptists Collegiate Ministry who is engaging college students to follow Christ and transform the world.  Go Now Missions is sending over 500 student missionaries to serve Christ all over the world in 2017.  In June, three of these students will join TBM Long Term Recovery in Brazoria and Southeast Texas to help repair homes that flooded in 2016.  This is a new and welcome partnership for TBM.

Go Now Missionaries must be active in their Baptist Student Missions (BSM) groups on their campus. The students are provided a list of vetted projects to choose from that span the globe.

Our Long Term Recovery Missionaries are Gus Riggs from Texas Tech, Casie Robinson of UT - San Antonio and Ryan Thomas from Tyler Junior College. These students chose to serve with TBM and assist those affected by disasters.

This past weekend these three students along with over 300 of their fellow Go Now Missionaries were part of a three day intense study and training at Dallas Baptist University.  On Sunday afternoon they joined in a Go Now Missions Commissioning Service where 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 was emphasized asking the students to "No longer live for themselves, BUT FOR HIM who died for them and was raised again.”

TBM Long Term Recovery is looking forward to spending time in June with these three dedicated students.  We hope to partner with Go Now Mission in many more projects in the future.  For more information contact Marla Bearden at 214-537-7358 or marla.bearden@texasbaptistmen.org.
