TBM Heading to Florida to Help Flooding Victims

Author: Tracie Bjorkgren/Wednesday, October 19, 2016/Categories: DR News

Flooding triggered by Hurricane Matthew took the lives at least 43 people in the United States and more than 500 people in Haiti and Southern Baptist from around the country are once again on the ground bringing hope.

TBM currently has one chainsaw unit in Palm Coast, FL and two traveling today.  A Shower/Laundry unit is providing services for Military and First Responders in Elizabethtown, NC.  A feeding team and IMT team left this morning to assist Missouri DR in Whiteville, NC.  Additionally, TBM sent a semi of cambros to Whiteville, NC as cambros are in short supply.

SBDR assessors have returned from Cuba, and we continue to monitor the needs and how we can best assist.

Terry Henderson, TBM Director, will arrive in Florida Sunday to assess first hand the future need for chainsaw units.

As always, continue to pray for the east coast as they recover as well as traveling mercies on all responding to the call.

Also, remember funds are vital to our work.  When a disaster does not strike at home, we sometimes forget there is still a monetary need.  So please give generously so we can continue to send help across the country.
