I will bless those who bless you, I will curse those who treat you with contempt, and all the peoples on earth will be blessed through you. Genesis 12:3
Texas Baptist Men received an invitation from the Emergency Volunteer Project through NEMA (National Emergency Management Authority) to attend a recent emergency exercise in the State of Israel. Tony Rolater and I spent three days visiting multiple locations observing different emergency scenarios and offering advice on mass feeding of civilians after an earthquake or political conflict. During the exercise they set up what would be roughly equivalent to a MARC (Multi-Agency Resource Center) in the United States.
Upon arrival we met with the Emergency Manager of Israel at the Parliament which is equivalent to our White House. We also visited several communities to get a feel of the daily lives of the Israeli’s and the surrounding area. We discussed a future partnership where we could train volunteers how to prepare meals for mass feeding, provide an Airlift Feeding Unit, and provide assistance with water purification. There is also a need for medical personnel following a disaster.
We were well received and the people where extremely grateful to be able to work with TBM and the US prepare for the eventuality of disaster. We are humbled to be able to work alongside God’s chosen nation and look forward to the doors that will open as we serve in Jesus name to a nation that is still searching for Him.
