Hello from the Water Ministry serving in Sierra Leone! We completed a two day WASH (hygiene) training for the community leaders who will be teaching the course after we leave. They are making “Tippy Taps”, a portable hand washing container made from plastic bottles. We emphasize the importance of hand washing with soap and running water as it can reduce disease associated deaths, by up to 50%. Below is a picture of young boy using the tippy tap after using the latrine. We hung this on the latrine so it would be convenient. Notice the yellow cup to the right which protects a bar of soap. The next day, four of these leaders taught with me at the community center in a nearby village. There were 75 participants out of the 209 that made professions of faith including seven Muslim ladies. It was a great day!!
Thanks for your prayers,
DeeDee Wint (I am the one in the middle, LOL!)
