TBM Cabinet Builders Help Churches Hit by Flooding

Author: Tracie Bjorkgren/Monday, August 01, 2016/Categories: Builders News

The TBM Cabinet Builders were in Deweyville, Texas for three weeks in July 2016. We were asked to help First Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church by building cabinets for their buildings that were damaged by severe flooding from the release of floodwaters from Toledo Bend reservoir in March. Both churches had between three and seven feet of water throughout their property and the existing buildings sustained heavy losses. SBCT Disaster Recovery teams assisted with the mud-out and new drywall was installed by the Volunteer Christian Builders. TBM was contacted upon referral from the VCB crews. We parked our RV’s and set up the workshop in the chapel of First Baptist Church and built for both churches from that location. The Family of God was evident as both churches shared resources and volunteers to assist.
