Hurricane Harvey Update

 

  • TBM has been assisted with volunteers and resources from 27 Baptist State Conventions representing 31 states, Guam, and Japan.
  • TBM and its partners are active in 4 sites (Angleton, Liberty, Orange, Rockport) with feeding, shower/laundry, heavy equipment, chaplains, chainsaw, temporary roof, Flood Recovery, and other resources. All mass feeding is now complete. All feeding activity is in support of volunteers.
  • TBM has begun the process of coordinating church groups that are responding to the need through the Volunteer Village. TBM is providing equipment and direction for the groups. The Volunteer Village has provided 1,944 volunteer days resulting in 32,953 volunteer hours.
  • TBM is providing limited demolition service at Rockport. Six (6) demolition jobs have been completed.
  • TBM Disaster Rebuild has deployed teams to Katy and planning deployment of teams to Orange, and University Baptist Church. Seven (7) homes are in progress at Katy.
  • Oklahoma is assisting with chaplains and oversight of chaplain activity in Sutherland Springs. 21 volunteer days, 231ministry contacts, 100 Bibles distributed and 1 profession of faith has been reported.
