TBM Long Term Recovery seeks to serve individuals and families affected by disasters that are uninsured, disabled and elderly. We work with disaster survivors throughout the long term recovery process by partnering with local churches, associations and other recovery teams, to mobilize volunteers, gather donated items, provide prayer and spiritual support and raise awareness of specific needs.
Currently volunteers are needed to help repair homes in the Greater Houston, Brazoria and Southeast Texas areas. These volunteer opportunities are for:
- Church Youth/Adults groups
- Baptist Student Missions (BSM) groups
- Yellow Cap trained groups and individuals.
Volunteers 18 and up, who stay overnight, must have a current background check on file with their church or Texas Baptist Men. Volunteers must be at least age 12. Yellow Cap training is not required for long term recovery work. TBM Long Term Recovery seeks to ensure a meaningful and productive experience for volunteers.
