DESCRIPTION OF COURSES
Basic Disaster Life Support (BDLS) course was developed in collaboration with the Medical College of Georgia, University of Georgia, University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and University of Texas School of Public Health at Houston and the American Medical Association. Developed in 2004, this course is the didactic component of NDLS disaster preparedness training. The course is an all-hazards comprehensive mass casualty management program.

The BMDF has continuing Medical Education at every annual National Meeting.  They peridoically offer BDLS training.

Advanced Disaster Life Support (ADLS) is a companion course for the BDLS provider. The training consists of an intensive 2 day course focused on the development of hands on skills. Achieving provider status in ADLS requires course completion and competency demonstration. http://www.ama-assn.org/ama/pub/category/12606.html

Fundamentals of Mass Causality Care is an on-line course which covers the basic principles covered in BDLS. This course is great for non-provider team members; it is also a great introduction to concepts valuable to all individuals who have not had BDLS www.dmou.org (University of Georgia Medical College.
