Water Ministry

Health and Hygiene

Bringing clean water to a community is a major step in giving them hope for a better life, but we can’t stop there. People are still getting sick. Unknowingly, they often contaminate the water as soon as it leaves the well. The people don’t know that their age old way of doing things is making them sick. They can’t change what they don’t know. Correct hand washing, for example, reduces diarrhea deaths by 44 %. It is said that it saves more lives than any single vaccine or medical treatment known to man. We hear about terrorists daily, but germs actually kill more people. We do know these things, and it is our obligation to share this knowledge with others. We do this in a self-discovery, discussion, activity based method covering basic, practical, and doable lessons. Since our main objective of the ministry is sharing Christ, we integrate spiritual lessons throughout.

Subjects Covered:

  • The importance of clean water
  • Germs: What they are, where they are, how they are spread, and how to block them from spreading
  • Hand washing
  • Nutrition
  • Oral Rehydration
  • Oral Hygiene
  • Spiritual application
